Typical Disaster

In muddy grass they stand
side-by-side, their knuckles interlocked.
Black dresses fill the cemetery.

Red roses against a colorless background
as cold breezes, carry tears away.
Tombstones risen up like an army.
Heads bowed, coveted embraces,
in this cliche tragedy.
