Lost River Cave

I started my journey at nine’ o’clock, when my bus arrived outside my door.
I quickly ran outside and boarded the bus. It was a long boring trip until we
reached my destination. It was so boring that I would’ve rather gone to a ballet
than take this trip. I saw everything you could imagine outside the window of the
bus. I saw stop signs, pedestrians, and even a couple accidents. I was part of one
of those accidents but wasn’t hurt.

I finally arrived at Lost River Cave, exhausted from the long nights spent
awake on the bus seat waiting. I unstably walked what seemed like an eternity
until I came upon a hill. I stopped and looked down the hill and couldn’t see the
bottom so I decided to stop here for the night. Soon morning came and I felt
better after resting for a couple hours. I decided to try and walk down this tall
steep hill. So I started walking down slowly, but it didn’t work I tripped over a
branch and rolled down the hill. A couple minutes later I found myself lying at the

bottom of the hill with scratches on my arms and legs. After I stood up and
brushed myself off I found a hole of water called the blue hole. I began to study
the water and noticed it wasn’t blue. So I thought to myself why would they name
it the blue hole if it’s not blue? I thought a little harder and figured it must have
not been blue because it wasn’t getting any sunshine. This made me sad because
what a story that would be to tell your children, I once saw a blue hole. I was also
looking forward to seeing a blue hole.

The blue hole is green
because the sun is not shining
this makes me really sad

I walked a little farther down the road and stumbled upon a old boat in the
middle of the river. I boarded the boat and rode it through a small tunnel like
cave. I hit my head several times on the roof of the cave. It was very short. Once
I made it past its smaller parts the cave opened up and became quite large.

After the cave opened up I noticed some big rocks. There was even
this one rock shaped like a head. There were also steps in this cave, but I didn’t go
up them. I also noticed it felt like it was raining on me but I didn’t know how it
could rain in a cave. I continued on down the river in the cave until I came upon a
dam so I turned and went back.

I turned my boat around, and was on my way out of the cave. I passed by
the jagged rocks and the short roof. I hit my head a couple more times on the
roof, and floated out of the cave and down the river.

I made it through the cave
Half my things ruined from the water
But I made it out

I got out of the boat and walked upon what looked like a deserted shack. I
walked inside and found beautiful flowers everywhere. I found a bench to sit on
and watched butterflies for at least twenty minutes. They were flying, mating, and
doing whatever else it is butterflies do. The more I watched them the sleepier I
became.

Butterflies mating
And flying around everywhere
They make me feel tired

The journey home is not as hard as the one here, but still yet is a challenge.
As I walked up the last hill before reaching the bus I felt like lying down and giving up because my legs could barely stand the strain of walking up so many hills. I made it up and got on the bus though.

The way back home is
Not as hard as the one here
But still a challenge
